
Safety
At Gladiator Wrestling, Your safety and the safety of all gladiators on the mat is our highest priority!
All sessions are conducted with structure, supervision, and a commitment to controlled learning.

PRE-CLASS

Check in and notify coaches of any injuries or medical concerns prior to the start of training.

Ensure you have clean wrestling boots or are barefoot before stepping on the mat.

Wrestling boots must NOT be worn in toilet areas or outside the mat and gym space (slides are provided).

A clean mat prevents serious health issues from occurring. All athletes are responsible for maintaining mat hygiene.


DURING CLASS

All techniques are taught progressively with step-by-step instruction.

Drills are controlled, with intensity increased only under coach direction.

Live wrestling is supervised at all times and matched by ability, age, and size.

No submissions or any illegal strikes, chokes, holds or any move that endangers a wrestler on the mat.


COACH & ATHLETE CONDUCT

Respect the mat, your partner, and yourself - unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.

Athletes participate - they do not coach. Direct all questions to coaches on the mat.

Coaches are First Aid certified and trained in injury prevention and emergency response

Water breaks and rest are scheduled to prevent fatigue and overheating.


POST-CLASS
-
All athletes must cool down and stretch as part of recovery.

Any injuries must be reported to a coach immediately.

Mats must be cleaned and sanitised after every session - all athletes assist.
